UNESCO in Norway
Norway has a range of actors involved in implementing UNESCO`s programmes. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in charge of overall Norwegian foreign affairs including United Nations policy. The Ministry of Education and Research is co-ordinating UNESCO activities in Norway and is responsible for the Education programme and the Science programme. The Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs is responsible for the Culture and Communication programmes, while the Ministry of Environment is responsible for implementing the World Heritage Convention in Norway and for matters of environment within UNESCO`s programme.
